One of the highlights of her job for Karen is visiting local schools and this week she went to St Anne's C of E Primary in Brown Edge. Karen said:
"The children at St Anne's were so lively and enthusiastic and it was a pleasure to meet them. We had a great discussion about democracy and how it works. I'm so glad that they are learning about that at an early age - it's such an important part of our society and part of what makes us strong as a nation.
"Because the children had some different ideas about what would be the best for Brown Edge, from skate parks to riding schools, they got to see how we have to respect the will of the majority but also recognise that not everyone would be happy with the outcome!
"St Anne's pupils are clearly benefiting from excellent teaching and they were really engaged. I hope they enjoyed our debate as much as I did."
