Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley was delighted to announce the winner of her 2020 Christmas Card on Moorlands Radio. The winner is Ava Ratcliffe-Hughes, aged 8 who attends St. Edward's CE Academy in Cheddleton.
Karen said,
“Huge congratulations to Ava for the winning design and thank you to all the children who entered my Christmas card competition.
“I really enjoyed looking at all the lovely designs and I will be putting a selection of them up in my office window and on my website for everyone to see.
“Thank you to Cllr Sybil Ralphs for judging the competition – I know that she had a tough time deciding on a winner. But having enjoyed sledging in Brough Park myself, I agree that the winning entry really does illustrate Christmas in the Moorlands.”
Cllr Ralphs commented,
“The standard of entries was very high and made my decision very difficult. However there can only be one winner, and the young artist who followed the required ‘Christmas in the Staffordshire Moorlands’ brief, and who produced a lovely picture that was well drawn, colourful and made me smile is Ava Ratcliffe-Hughes.”
The winning design will be sent electronically to other politicians including the Prime Minister as well as local leaders, colleagues and friends.
