Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley today spoke in a Westminster Hall debate on the Government’s levelling-up agenda and post covid-19 economic recovery in North Staffordshire Potteries towns.
Karen began by explaining the link between the Moorlands and Potteries towns in North Staffordshire citing the Flint Mill in Cheddleton and the Rudyard Lake.
She then mentioned the many letters and emails she has received recently from businesses in the Moorlands who are concerned about the impact of the measures that the Government have proposed and her concerns regarding the vote on the proposals later today.
Karen highlighted the hospitality businesses and especially the pubs who want to be able to work and trade and urged the Government to think about how to support them.
She spoke about the wedding venue, Heaton House Farm and on the topic of Post-Covid levelling up, about the lack of transport in the Moorlands and how this affects visitors to Alton Towers.
Karen said,
"I was pleased to be able to contribute to this debate and make sure that ministers are aware of the concerns of my constituents."
