Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley has welcomed the news that Leek Town and Leek Town Ladies have been awarded funding from the Premier League.
Leek Town have been awarded £7,000 and Leek Town Ladies £1,000 from the Premier League's Matchday Support Fund.
This will help them cover the costs of adjustments that need to be made to safely cater for the return of players and supporters to the stadium.
The Matchday Support Fund is being delivered by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) - the grant-giving body that provides Premier League funding to support ground improvements for clubs in the professional, women's and non-league games.
Karen commented,
“I raised the question of support for Leek Town recently with the Sports Minister in the House of Commons and I am delighted to hear that Leek Town and Leek Town Ladies have been awarded this funding from the Premier League to help prepare for football's safe return.”
