Karen is a strong supporter of Horton Lodge and has raised their concerns about funding for residential education provision in Parliament. She was therefore delighted to invite the Minister for Children & Families, Vicky Ford MP to the school for a virtual visit.
The Minister joined Karen, headteacher Sarah Latham and Andrew Shaw, CEO of the Talentum Learning Trust to hear all about this very unique school that offers such fantastic care.
Karen commented:
“Horton Lodge is a very special school in a very special part of the Moorlands, with unique needs. I know how committed everyone is to the school and wants to make sure there is enough money to provide the best education possible.
“I have spoken about our schools many times in Parliament and when meeting Ministers, so am very pleased that Vicky Ford MP, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families was able to take up my invitation for this virtual visit.
“We need the right amount of funding so Horton Lodge can continue to thrive and offer fantastic care. These are the most incredibly special and unique children. It’s more than education and a vital part of so many lives.”
