Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley has welcomed the announcement that 3 local charities in the Moorlands have been awarded a share of £200 million to help them continue their vital work with vulnerable people during the pandemic.
The 3 charities in the Moorlands to be allocated funding from the £200m Coronavirus Community Support Fund are:
Home-Start Staffordshire Moorlands (£9,788)
Werrington Community Library & Wellbeing Centre (£9,660)
Borderland Voices (£2,430)
Since its launch in May, the Coronavirus Community Support Fund has directed cash to organisations who provide key services and support vulnerable people.
Distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, it is part of the Government’s £750 million support package for charities announced earlier this year.
Commenting, Karen said,
“I know just how hard all our local charities have been working during these difficult times and the announcement of funding for these 3 fantastic charities is very welcome news indeed.”
Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden, said:
“Charities are there when we need them the most, and this emergency funding has kept their doors open during the biggest crisis for a generation.
“Our £200 million Coronavirus Community Support Fund has reached thousands of worthy causes in communities across the country, ensuring they can be there for millions of vulnerable people and families.”
