Karen visited Rethink's John Hall Gardens in Leek today to learn from the volunteers and users how the activities at the garden and Rethink's work across Staffordshire Moorlands helps people with mental health issues. She said:
"I was so pleased to be invited to visit Rethink. It is a beautiful facility and I can well understand what a positive effect it can have for people using it."
Karen heard from Sue Smith, the centre leader, about the challenges for Rethink and the opportunities it offers users. She also talked to some of those users about how the gardens work for them.
Karen added, "I was so impressed by the dedication of the volunteers and everyone gave me such a cheerful welcome. They also have some lovely plants for sale so I thoroughly recommend a visit. They are always looking for donations too if anyone has spare pots or plants - they would be gratefully received and used in a great cause."
