I have been contacted by many constituents about the Government’s plan to cut Winter Fuel payments.
I am totally opposed to this decision, which affects over 20,000 people in my constituency. I am incredulous that Sir Kier Starmer has chosen to increase the pay of train drivers by more than 20% whilst taking money out of the hands of pensioners. That is why I signed the parliamentary motion to oppose this cruel act and why I voted against the government on the 10th September.
Please be assured that I will keep standing up for pensioners in our local community and make the Chancellor aware of your views.
