Caseworker/Constituency Assistant
Karen is looking to appoint a full-time Caseworker/Constituency Assistant on a 6 month contract, with possible extension, to assist in the day-to-day running of her Constituency office in Leek in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, reliable and at ease working as part of a small team. He/she/they will demonstrate a willingness to undertake a variety of tasks working under the supervision of the Senior Caseworker and the Chief of Staff. Knowledge of the local area is essential.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Dealing with all types of correspondence
Assisting with casework
Handling telephone enquiries
General office administration and support
Maintaining confidentiality and working in accordance with data protection laws
Attending surgeries and other meetings as appropriate
Assisting with the organisation of constituency events, MP visits and coach trips to Westminster.
You must:
• Be able to write English clearly and concisely to a very high standard
• be proficient with MS Office and confident with IT in general
• be educated to degree level
• demonstrate an attention to detail
• be able to show that you are familiar with British politics and the Staffordshire Moorlands.
Experience is desired but not essential as training will be given
The successful candidate will have an interest in politics and current affairs, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Start date is March 2024 but there is the possibility to start sooner.
Interviews will be held in our Leek office.
