After what has been a really busy few months in Westminster, it is lovely to be back home in the Moorlands with my family for Easter.
We have had some pretty miserable weather too over the Winter months so I am really looking forward to some Spring sunshine, to seeing the new born lambs in the fields, the blossom on the trees and to being able to go for some nice walks in the constituency. It always feels so good to be surrounded by our beautiful countryside, which I really miss when I am in Parliament, and to be out in the fresh air with my family.
As usual I will be supporting our local shops and businesses. We have some of the most fantastic produce here in the Moorlands and my colleagues in Westminster always enjoy the oatcakes and other local goodies that I bring back for them to try.
We have local elections coming up in May and I have been out campaigning with some of our great Conservative candidates recently. We have also been busy in my constituency office organising my next coach trip to Parliament in May. This has proved to be really popular, so much so that we will organise another soon after to accommodate all the people who have signed up to join us.
As we all look forward to Easter weekend and spending time with family and friends, I would like to say a special thank you to everyone who will be working over Easter including the doctors and nurses and those working in the emergency services as well as all those serving in the Forces who are unable to be with their loved ones at this special time of year.
I wish everyone in Staffordshire Moorlands a very happy and peaceful Easter.
