Karen invited Leek Town FC to to donate a scarf to the memorial service that is being held at Anfield on the 15th April to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
Karen said:
“Every year the families of the 96 people who tragically died at Hillsborough, along with many survivors of the disaster, join together for a memorial service at Anfield.
“This year is the 25th anniversary and will be especially poignant. Liverpool FC have arranged a tribute that everyone can be a part of. The club are asking fans from around the country - from any sport - to donate scarves that will be laid out on the pitch at Anfield on the day of the service in the shape of the number 96.
“Scarves have already been sent from all around the world with messages to the families and I am pleased that Leek Town will be representing Staffordshire Moorlands. Thank you to Leek Town's director, Ray Bettany for providing the scarf".
There are more details about the tribute, including a short film, here.
