Karen Bradley sat on the green benches of the House of Commons for the first time this week, behind the Prime Minister David Cameron, as Parliament met. MPs chose John Bercow to continue as Speaker.
Karen said:
"We've got a new Parliament now and it's a real privilege to be here as the MP for Staffordshire Moorlands. I'm grateful to all who voted for me but I'll be representing everyone in the constituency regardless of their political allegiance.
"There is a tremendous amount to be done to get the country back up on it's feet. Also from a practical point of view all of us who are new to the House of Commons are waiting for our offices to be allocated, finding our way about the building and getting to grips with everything.
"I've received hundreds of emails and letters already and I want to assure you all in the Moorlands that I will answer them all as soon as possible. I'm very sorry if you haven't received an immediate reply but the time since the election has been frenetic.
"I'm looking forward to getting back to the constituency at the end of the week so I can finalise organising my office there and get on with the job of representing the Moorlands as it deserves."
