Local MP, Karen Bradley visited Woodcroft First School last week to discuss their concerns about the Staffordshire County Council’s plans not to replace school crossing patrols.
Karen said,
“I know that this an issue of great concern to both staff and parents in Staffordshire Moorlands.
Woodcroft School has no real traffic calming measures in place, no speed bumps or warning signs and looking at the road outside the school together with Mrs Hewitt, the Head Teacher, we agreed that the best option would be to have a proper pedestrian crossing which was what happened at St Mary’s.”
Karen will be raising these concerns with the Councils and will be asking Councillors to look for alternative provision for each individual school as appropriate.
