As an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by Coronavirus, the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) is organising #GivingTuesdayNow in the UK on 5 May 2020 and Karen is encouraging local residents in Staffordshire Moorlands to get involved.
#GivingTuesdayNow will be a global day of unity where we can all come together to celebrate and give thanks for the incredible outpouring of generosity we have witnessed during this crisis. The campaign is free to join and they are sharing resources so that charities, businesses and households can still get involved at this difficult time.
Giving Tuesday is a global campaign which normally falls in November or December, but the movement has organised this day in response to Coronavirus. There are many charities that are struggling to continue their vital services as they see an increase in demand alongside a steep drop in income.
Charities, businesses and individuals can sign up for free to be part of the event at www.givingtuesday.org.uk or connect via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“Following the training session for charities in Staffordshire Moorlands that I organised with the Charities Aid Foundation, I am delighted to support #GivingTuesdayNow.
"Charities have been tirelessly delivering on their mission, meeting vital needs which haven’t gone away in the face of Coronavirus. I would encourage all my constituents to use this day to show their gratitude to all the people who have supported our community through such challenging times.”

“Charities need help now more than ever, and we’re delighted to have Rt Hon Karen Bradley MP on board celebrating the vital work of charities in Staffordshire Moorlands. The UK is one of the most generous countries in the world and we at CAF are proud to run this campaign here – it’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the great causes people are supporting at this time of unprecedented need. We would also encourage anyone who is able to, to think about giving to a cause close to their heart”
