Karen Bradley joined her political opponents on the hustings in Biddulph on Sunday night and there was only one topic of discussion. Both the questions from the floor and the commments from members of the panel discussed only Conservative policies on health, the economy and Karen's involvement in the local community.
Karen took questions on her support for local residents in opposing the Labour-supported plans for building on greenfield land at Newpool Meadows. She also confirmed the Conservatives' commitment to health funding, SureStart and child tax credits.
Karen said:
"I was pleased to explain our policies to a really well-attended event. It was interesting that only the Conservative policies were raised. Both the Labour and LibDem candidates spent the evening discussing Conservative plans, I can't think of a new idea they put forward. It's clear that only one party - the Conservatives - have any ideas on how to repair our economy and our society.
"I'm grateful to Biddulph Churches Together for organising the event, the attendance showed that many people are still interested in politics - I hope we get the chance to bring a change to Staffordshire Moorlands with a Conservative government."
