Karen joined the Mayor of Biddulph Jeanette Whalley and the Rev'd John Fisher, at the revival of the Biddulph Moor Well Dressing on Saturday 23 June. Organised by the Biddulph Moor Community Association with the support of local business Moorlands Composites, Mr Fisher blessed the well to add the village to a famous list of places following this long standing regional tradition.
The Biddulph Moor well is reputed to be the head of the River Trent and the Community Association are hoping to make dressing it a regular event.
Karen said "It's great to see such strong community spirit in Biddulph Moor but knowing many of the residents I'm not surprised! Well done to the Community Association, they have put a magnificent event together and this is one of the most splendidly dressed wells I have seen.
"I know that the team spent over 500 hours making the dressing, which celebrated the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens. I'm also told that many people think the model for the picture of Mr Bumble was Biddulph’s Town Crier, John Robinson – but if so it's only in looks and not in character!"
