Karen and her family enjoyed two local sports events at the weekend, taking in the Leek Town FC celebration match on Sunday and then the county cricket at Leek Cricket Club on Monday. All this squeezed in around the real job of meeting more voters in Werrington!
On Sunday Karen and her family bought their tickets and joined a host of supporters at the one match of the season Leek Town couldn't lose. A team of Wembley Wonders took on Leek Legends to celebrate 20 years since the team's visit to Wembley for the FA Trophy Final. Comparative youth won the day as the Legends edged out the Wonders 3-2.
Karen headed out to Werrington on Monday morning.
"I've been to lots of events in Werrington in the last four years, including a great hog-roast I still remember well, and the service to celebrate St Philip's refurbishment."
After a day in Werrington with more campaigning door to door, Karen was back home in Leek to take in some of the cricket at Highfield as star players - including England captain Alastair Cook - from Derbyshire and Essex played in the Pro40 fixture. Karen said:
"It was a beautiful evening and Highfield is always a great place to be when the weather is good. A great way to relax after another busy day."
