Karen is supporting Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's project to restore the Roaches footpaths. Their plans have been shortlisted for a €30,000 award which will be decided by public vote.
You can vote for the Roaches here.
Karen has already voted and is asking everyone to do the same:
“I love visiting the Roaches with my family but we need to make sure we look after it too. I hope everyone in the Moorlands will vote for the Wildlife Trust’s project. Lots of people put a lot of effort into looking after the Roaches but all you need to do is click on the link and scroll down to the Roaches. We’ve got til October the 6th but don’t wait just do it now.”
One click is all it takes to vote for the Restoring Roaches Footpaths project and help Staffordshire Wildlife Trust secure over £23,000 to repair footpaths and heal erosion scars on the Staffordshire’s most iconic natural landscape.
Every year over 100,000 visitors from all across the UK visit the Roaches to walk, climb or simply enjoy the view. Sadly this intense visitor pressure means the footpaths have become heavily eroded. Not only are these erosion scars ugly, they are also damaging habitat and making access treacherous. Voting is free and simple.
