Fairtrade Fortnight took place last week and Karen was pleased to support the Fairtrade Foundation’s campaign highlighting the growing challenges that climate change brings to farmers and agricultural workers overseas who grow popular products such as tea, coffee, cocoa and bananas.
Karen attended an event hosted by the Fairtrade All Party Parliamentary Group where MPs were able to sample Fairtrade tea from Waitrose and Greenypeeps, and see Fairtrade facemasks created by sustainable clothing company Neutral. MPs also had the opportunity to hear more about the importance of involving farmers and agricultural workers in plans to tackle the climate crisis.
Karen said,
“I was pleased to drop into an event in Parliament to show my support for Fairtrade Fortnight.
“I am delighted that so many constituents, schools, communities and businesses here in the Moorlands support Fairtrade’s mission to make trade fair, and are committed to using Fairtrade products where they can.”
