As Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Human Trafficking & Modern Slavery, I was pleased to drop into an event in Parliament to meet the senior police officers who are leading a national programme of work on modern slavery and organised immigration crime.
Alison Hernandez, the Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly chairs the Strategic Assurance Board for policing’s national Modern Slavery and Organised Immigration Crime Unit which is based in Devon and Cornwall Police.
It was useful to hear more about the actions that are being taken within policing to pursue offenders and safeguard victims.
