Confirmation of Discussion on Service Provision at Leek Moorlands Hospital
I am writing to confirm the key points discussed during our meeting yesterday regarding the service provision at Leek Moorlands Hospital. As highlighted during our discussion, MPFT remains fully committed to maintaining and enhancing the range of services offered at the hospital.
I am pleased to inform you that I have also received assurance from Peter Axon, Chief Executive for the Integrated Care Board, that they are equally dedicated to maintaining the delivery of services provided by the Leek Minor Injuries Unit. This reflects our shared commitment to the community and the valuable role the hospital plays in providing essential health and care services.
During the meeting, we also touched upon Integrated Care Hubs (ICHs). While we do not currently have a capital funding source available for development of the hub, I want to reassure you that we remain committed to advancing the care offering at the community hospital. We are continuing to integrate services and are determined to explore all opportunities to continuously improve services and deliver high-quality, accessible care to the community.
In line with this commitment, we are focusing on consolidating key services at the site. This includes the integration of drug and alcohol services, community nursing, adult social care and other vital services. Furthermore, we are eager to expand the range of services available at Leek Moorland Hospital wherever feasible to better meet the needs of local people.
I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the significant financial investments we have made over the last 12 months to address the backlog of maintenance at Leek Moorlands Hospital. These investments underscore our ongoing commitment to maintaining the hospital as a strategic asset and ensuring its long-term viability as a cornerstone of local healthcare provision.
We are excited about the future of Leek Moorlands Hospital and the potential to further enhance the services offered. Thank you for your continued support.
