Thank you to the many constituents who have contacted me about the Black Lives Matter campaign following the horrific images of the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Nobody who saw those images can be in any doubt that the some of those involved acted in a despicable and inhumane way. The reaction that followed shows that across the world there is still much work that needs to be done to deal with racism and the treatment of all citizens.
It is vitally important that politicians listen to that reaction and understand the role that we can all play in tackling the scourge of racism.
