Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley has welcomed the Prime Minister’s visit earlier today to a large vaccination centre in Staffordshire.
The Prime Minister visited Tunstall’s Covid-19 Vaccination Centre where he thanked staff and volunteers and spoke to members of the local rollout team about the progress of the vaccination programme within the local area.
Neil Carr, Chief Executive of Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Senior Responsible Officer for the vaccination programme in Staffordshire said:
“Today’s visit from the Prime Minister has given a real morale boost to our staff and volunteers who have, and continue to, go above and beyond in our local response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Locally the uptake in the vaccine is very good and the success of the programme is credited to our workforce. Vaccination centres across Staffordshire are now vaccinating people in cohorts 5 and 6, which includes people aged 65 years of age and over, and all individuals aged 16 years to 64 years with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality. If you fall into those cohorts please do take up the offer to receive our vaccination.”
Karen commented,
“I am pleased that the Prime Minister has come to see for himself just what a fantastic job our local vaccine rollout team are doing in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.
“It’s great to see that so many people in my constituency have received the vaccine and I was delighted to learn last week that the Staffordshire Moorlands constituency has the eighth highest vaccination rate in the country.”
