This morning, Karen chaired the first liaison meeting for residents and staff at the John Monroe hospital. She said:
“Having decided at an introductory meeting in April that a John Munroe Liaison Group should meet three times a year, it was great to see the staff and residents at the hospital getting together to discuss ways to make the centre run more smoothly. One issue which residents felt particularly strongly about was noise level of staff coming and going. The group agreed some simple changes that should make things that bit better without inconveniencing staff."
The group also agreed a way to communicate with text alerts to local people that were agreed at the last minute. Community representatives and the Managing Director of the Hospital agreed that the solution is beginning to work well. Matthew said "this is a great example of why increased communication is a positive change for the hospital.”
Karen is delighted that the new group is already making a difference, she added:
"I'm glad to be able to bring the group together and I think we have now established an efficient but comprehensive way to work, thanks to the hospital and all the residents for being so positive."
